KEY ROLES In conjunction with the Marketing Director and Senior Management Team develop a strategy to take the organisation to a new level in the provision of conferences. Develop a portfolio approach to the conferences offered by the company advising on the retention and development of existing conferences and the conceptualisation and development of new offerings. Organise and manage with the help of a full time administrative resource the individual conferences of the portfolio. Achieve the financial targets for the portfolio QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE A degree in Communication and/or Marketing is essential. At least 5 years managing significantly sized conferences. Proven experience with working with large event budgets to stringent deadlines Knowledge Knowledge of the conference market and landscape within South Africa. Thorough understanding of business and economic issues both locally and globally Knowledge of networks within the business community Responsibilities include but are not limited to : Conference strategy development Conference portfolio development and management Conceptualise and researching relevant topics / themes for events Source speakers throughliaising with high profile local and international business executives To manage and build on partnerships with various companies organisations and associations Devise and implement a marketing strategy for each event Devise administer and control a budget for each event Brief and debrief speakers for each event Manage the logistics associated with delivery of each event from inception to completion Manage multiple simultaneous events Supervise an administrative co-ordinator If you fit all of the requirements please send your CV in WORD format to Please do not apply if you do not fit the requirements If you have not received any feedback within 2 weeks please presume your application has been unsuccessful
