Glendon, the founder of Umbilo Skills Training Centre, has managed to achieve this by offering accredited quality training from basic to trade testing. Umbilo provides specialist support to the industry by uplifting skills development. Apprenticeship training is provided in the major engineering trades. Umbilo is accredited to do training and trade testing in the electrical (construction and industrial), millwright, fitting, welding, boiler-making and domestic sectors. Situated in Umbilo Durban, Umbilo Skills Training Centre is accredited with MerSeta for training in the electrical, domestic appliances, millwright and fitting. Umbilo’s accreditation with CHIETA is for training and trade testing in electrical, fitting, welding, boiler-making and turning. Umbilo Skills Training Centre offers full time and part time classes where we focus on individual training. Full time classes are from a Monday to Thursday between 8:00 am – 16:00 pm and on a Friday between 8:00 – 14:00 pm. For individuals who take the courses on a part time basis, they should expect to attend classes from Monday to Wednesday between 17:00 pm – 20:00 pm and on a Saturday between 8:00 am – 13:00 pm.
