Our client a copper mining company based in Zambia would like to appoint a Winding Plant Engineer at their operations. The company is one of the major copper producing companies in Zambia. Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent the successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance and repair of Winding Plants. 3-Year Contract extendable for further periods if you have performed well during the initial contract. Also a residential position as opposed to a fly-in-fly-out position. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Must have two (02) years minimum experience in the Mining Industry. Experience on Double Drum Winders will be an added advantage. Should be proficient in AutoCAD/MicroStation Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Must have valid EIZ and ERB practicing certificates. The new winders we will be installing are modern thyristor type winders also extensively controlled by modern state of the art electronics and PLCs. Prefer to have someone who has some feeling and experience at least on the same. Also these winders are BMR winders or BlairMulti Rope winders. DUTIES WILL AMONG OTHERS INCLUDES: Checking all designs for winding plants and associated equipment for the shaft project. Checking construction work in progress. Supervising erection and commissioning of winders and all associated equipment. Liaison with Mines Safety Department. The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work withown initiative paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
