FACTORY / ENGINEERING MANAGER Packaging Industry A leading JSE Listed manufacturing company requires the above to be part of the OPCO team wherein they strategically manage and oversee the effective leadership of the operations team running a world-class manufacturing facility. Well known manufacturing company requires the above to be responsible for: Being part of the OPCO team wherein they strategically manage and oversee the effective leadership of the operations team running a world-class manufacturing facility. The effective and strategic leadership of the manufacturing facility and operations teams with an emphasis on managing the activities in order to achieve optimum quality on time delivery and on-cost target whilst sitting on the OPCO team. Taking full operational accountability ensuring manufacturing sites adhere to strict quality standards and manufacturing best practices. Optimizing through-puts yield and operational efficiencies. Managing annual budgets and optimizing overhead cost recovery and volumes that are aligned with the company s strategic plan. Creating and maintaining a culture of excellence with regards to product quality and customer service. Developing and implementing maintenance strategies to ensure cost effective delivery of production objectives. Ensuring that production and machine efficiencies and scrap targets are met. Accurately and timeously reporting figures and general administration. Ensuring the maintenance of process control and product quality. Initiating implementing and managing improvement projects. Ensuring that safety in the workshop is a top priority and all safety regulations are adhered to. Taking on the GMR2 responsibility for the site. Ensured production was run according to production plan and conducted production meetings on a daily basis. Implementing and controlling plant modifications in compliance with management of change procedures to improve plant operability and reliability. Minimum requirements for the role: A tertiary qualification (BSc or B Tech) in either Mechanical or Electrical or Industrial Engineering or related is essential. Min 5 Years production management experience is essential. Previous experience in the PET / Plastics industry is preferred. Project management experience is essential. This determined person must be an effective team player with good interpersonal and leadership skills. The ability to lead and motivate with a broad range of technical and engineering knowledge is essential. Brief Description: A well-known engineering manufacturing international company that manufactures large crop storage and handling equipment for the agriculture / animal feed industry requires the above to manage and lead a technical team project managing very large accounts both locally and internationally. Advert Description: Leading engineering manufacturing international company requires the above to be responsible for: Managing a team of Technical Staff and Draughtsman as well as overseeing various outsourced contractors that install and commission equipment at customers (farmers / agricultural industry) on site. Training troubleshooting and offering technical service as well as basic conceptual design at customer sites with large key accounts within the agricultural industry. Will travel to farmers to conduct training when required to do so on large specialised engineering equipment and the running and maintenance thereof. Training in-house staff (sales and marketing teams) on imported equipment. Give presentations at seminars and conferences both nationally and internationally. Will travel to the USA for training on specialised equipment throughout the year when required to do so. Company will offer extensive training for the right person. Minimum requirements for the role: Structural Engineering and or Electrical tertiary qualification or related is essential. Previous experience working as a Technical Manager or similar managing projects within the agricultural or related industries is preferred. Previous experience working with Turnkey projects on large engineering equipment that is PLC driven would be preferred. Must have an electrical aptitude. Must understand engineering drawings.
