A NATIONAL SUPPLY CHAIN IS SEEKING A MILLWRIGHT TO BECOME PART OF THERE FAST GROWING TEAM Company seeks Millwright to carry out maintenance and repairs of electrical and mechanical systems and equipment. To provide assistance in other areas as required. During afterhours shifts assume responsibility for the additional sections including Preparation Finishing and Upgrade departments Qualifications & Experience Minimum Required N3/Qualified Millwright (NQF Level 4). Minimum of 3 years General Millwright experience. Knowledge of PLC (Positive Logic Control). Required Job Behavioral Attributes Minimum Required Technical Technical competence and the ability to diagnose faults or problems with some form of equipment. Planning & organizing able to define objectives for processes set priorities and revise plans in the event of change. Team work and co-operation Has an orientation to co-operate within a team environment works towards bigger picture of the team and takes instructions. Problem Solving Required to apply diagnostic skills particularly for after hour s shifts where overall responsibility is assumed. Verbal & Written Communication Ability to communicate with external suppliers Foreman and Line Managers. Action Orientation Ability to make decision and willingness to take accountability particularly when assuming responsibility during standby duties. Principal Accountabilities 1. Maintenance and Repairs Carry out inspections repairs and installations. Service and maintain electrical and mechanical systems so as to ensure reliable plant availability and production targets. Take preventative measures where possible. Repair interior and exterior lighting systems. Read and interpret sketches wiring diagrams drawings and blue prints to perform work to specific standards. Maintain records and logs of inspections maintenance done repairs done and parts used. If assigned afterhour s shifts assume maintenance and repairs responsibility for all additional sections including Preparation Finishing and Upgrade departments. Hand over shift reports to Shift Supervisor and inform relief staff of any problems experienced. 2. Housekeeping Perform general clean-ups at work sites including sweeping and vacuuming of workshops sub stations and transformer rooms. 3. Safety Observe and implement proper safety practices. Attend to matters arising and take preventative measures as appropriate. 4. Maintenance Fault Finding Complete job cards for equipment breakdowns and estimate time materials and equipment required for tasks requiring attention. Attend daily briefing sessions at which previous day s problems are discussed and decisions are taken regarding corrective measures to be implemented. Implement corrective measures as required. 4. Other Perform occasional cutting welding soldering and brazing. Provide assistance in other areas of maintenance as required. Act in the best interest of the company at all times. Flexibility Can adapt to additional job requirements and changes successfully.
