Software Development Manager/Engineering Manager -embedded systems

Based in Centurion this is a strategic appointment to secure the continued growth and sucess of the fast growing South African subsidiary of a multinational Engineering R D company which specialises in the manufacture of semiconductors and intelligent communications devices The company develops and supplies programmable semiconductor products that are used for intelligent flow processing in network and communications devices. Its products include integrated network flow processors and acceleration cards for use in carrier-grade and enterprise-class communications products and virtualized servers and appliances that require deep packet inspection flow analysis and content processing at very high speeds. The company also offers an integrated development environment that includes hardware reference designs and tools including a simulator a compiler a debugger and a reference code that allow developers to speed the time-to-market for their products and applications. In addition it provides a range of pre and post-sales design consulting and engineering support services Ideal candidates will hold B or M degrees with a good academic record and relevant hands on engineering/software development skills coupled with business management and team leading skills 1. Engineering Manager This individual should have a strong technical background in : (1) Windows Linux Software Development (2) Silicon Simulation Software Development (3) Compiler Software Development or (4) Embedded Networking Software Engineering. It is clear that depending on the background this individual will be technically more competent in one focus area . This individual will have to remain technical and hands-on but will have the additional responsibility of the general management of the office together with the administrative work that will form part of it.
