JOB PURPOSE To identify potential hazards and provide solutions related to the daily activities of the department. To assist the operations/regional manager in ensuring legal compliance of the department with SHEQ requirements. To aid the department in preparing for audits and to facilitate both internal and external audits. To manage SHEQ systems and related administration of the department. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Audit results and compliance Maintenance of SHEQ awareness (Toolbox talks Job observations) Safety checklists Accident and incident recording and implementation of corrective actions To ensure that SHEQ training requirements are met Creation and revision of policies and procedures including SOPs ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Business Process / Admin To assist with and implement a SHEQ administration and record system as required by the internal SHEQ audit system related to all activities of the department Facilitate departmental SHEQ meetings and ensure that minutes are drafted and distributed Ensure / enforce contractor s compliance on site (e.g. Induction work permits risk assessments contractor s files and related documents) Conduct accident investigations where required Implementation of corrective actions Oversee the updating and audit correctness of the SHEQ Management system Ensure risk assessments are done where required Ensure ISOMertix is utilized Promote SHEQ awareness through toolbox talks incident recalls risk assessments job observations SHEQ Alerts and other safety incentive initiatives Assist in implementing the findings of audit results Draft non-conformances and recommend corrective and preventative actions Assist in the implementation of SHEQ objectives and targets as set by site management Monitor safe behavior through behavioral observations Create and implement safety checklists (e.g. fire equipment electrical equipment etc) Liaison with site health and safety representatives Review compliance to company rules and procedures Conduct equipment inspections for legal compliance and to promote safe conditions Record update and organize all SHEQ related documentation People / Development Conduct regular awareness training on all sites Ensure Health and Safety representative PPE Risk assessment first aider fire fighter and handling of hazardous training is us to date PLEASE NOTE THAT NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED OTHER THAN THOSE MADE DIRECTLY VIA PNET. JOB PURPOSE The SHEQ Officer is responsible for coordinating the Quality Environmental Health Safety legal compliance programmes and related issues within the department. She/he is also responsible for ensuring that the business complies with all relevant SHEQ legislation company policies and procedures minimum requirements and permit requirements. Coordination of the implementation maintenance and administration of the SHEQ management system. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Audit results and compliance above 80% Maintenance of SHEQ awareness (Toolbox talks Job observations) Accident and incident recording investigation root cause analysis and implementation of corrective - and preventive actions Continuous site inspections and internal auditing Creation and revision of policies and procedures including SOPs ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Business Process / Admin 1. Review compliance to regional rules and regulations 2. Ensure that SHEQ meetings are held recorded and document controlled 3. Enforce contractors compliance 4. Conduct accident investigations when required 5. Assist management with the implementation of the SHEQ management system 6. Assist in updating the SHEQ Management system to accommodate changes in legislation and Industry Standards. 7. Ensure SHEQ document and data control systems are maintained by the responsible persons 8. Promote SHEQ Awareness 9. Monitor audit findings and recommend corrective and preventative actions 10. Conduct and facilitate risk assessments 11. Issue Non conformances where required 12. Ensure management set objectives and targets for SHEQ compliance in the division 13. Co-ordinate the monthly safety meeting o ensure meeting times are set o agendas are sent out o minutes are kept and sent out o ensure that all support documentation in respect of the safety program is received on time and in the correct format from all concerned parties 14. Assist in appointment of safety representatives for all departments 15. Communicate changes in Safety and Environment legislation to Management People/Development 1. Develop and empower employees to take ownership of the SHEQ Management system 2. Conduct regular awareness training on all sites 3. Ensure health and safety representative first aider fire fighter and handling of hazardous material training is up to date.
