The Operations Department has a vacancy for a Senior Inspector to conduct inspection of products and equipment according to standard protocols as prescribed through PPECB s legislative mandate. The successful candidate will be required to: Inspect and certify perishable products. Inspect the handling storage and transport of perishable products. Ensure the correct application of quality management systems BMS procedures and work instructions. Perform administrative tasks. Supervision of juniors. Provide technical support to subordinates. Assist with training of subordinates. Build and maintain good relations with PPECB clients. Communicate with various clients on own specific task and outcome of decisions Participate in the relief duty roster Accept the responsibility of continuous self improvement in their area of responsibility according to the PPECB performance framework. Applicant must have: A tertiary qualification in an agricultural discipline with a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience as a competent Inspector. (verification of assessment required on two main products) Thorough understanding and theoretical knowledge of the processes involved in product inspection of fresh produce cold chain activities and food safety. Practical experience of products inspected in the relevant region will be an advantage: Pome; Stone; Gapes; Citrus and Container loading Experience as senior within the inspections cold chain and harmonization strategy will be to the advantage of applicants. Good verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work with minimum supervision. Proven track record of taking ownership enabled by responsible and accountable behavior. Excellent customer service skills. A valid code 08 driver s license and own reliable vehicle Competent in at least 5 products Prove of training and mentoring of junior personnel.
