JOB PURPOSE Ensure that the achievement of customer collection targets essential to the profitability of the company are met. To control specific sections of accounts & team within the sales ledger and to facilitate a high level of cash-flow and minimize levels of overdue debt. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Telephonic collections of the debtors book Supervise a team of credit controllers Investigate all short and non-payments on accounts Follow up and resolve all queries until credited debited or paid Credit/debit note requests Allocations of all payments to the correct accounts and to correct invoices Allocations of all unmatched credit notes and journals To achieve the monthly collection target Direct Client Liaison & client visits Keep customer data updated on the system Might deal with new credit applications i.e. do trade references and any other information that s needed Release suspended orders Comply with the Company s Credit policy REQUIRED SKILLS KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Credit management certificate/diploma or equivalent 5 years experience in a similar environment Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel Neat and well spoken Good communication skills especially telephone skills Good presentation and a pleasant manner Able to help customers in a friendly and efficient manner Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines Excellent numeracy skills Please take note that correspondence will be with short-listed candidates only. You must have at least 1 full year s experience managing a team of 10 people. Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Manager typically you will manage the Validation Officer the Specifications Coordinator and Laboratory Supervisors. Handle queries from drivers. Handle briefings or VHO whenever required. Handle all Demo vehicles as per request. You have: Minimum four years driving experience in heavy haulage.
