MAIN PURPOSE: Formulate quotations and tenders related to electric motors and accessories. Ensure that tenders and quotations meet the Company and customers commercial terms and conditions. Assist external and internal customers with technical queries. QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE: Matric with English and Mathematics. A recognised electrical qualification (ND Electric Engineering / BTech / S4 / T3). At least three years work experience in the Electric Motors (LV and HV) field. Computer literacy - good knowledge of MS Office and Excel (SYSPRO experience an advantage) Experience in preparation and presentation of quotations and tenders. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ORDERS: o Receiving and processing of customer orders in line with the customers technical requirements. o Take responsibility for tender documents and quotations within the proposals division. o Ensure that all technical requirements are taken into account. o Review customer specifications to ensure compliance. o Perform cost calculations to ensure accurate pricing. o Perform electrical and mechanical calculations as required. o Liaise with customers. o Formulate the best possible solution to meet customer requirements. o Liaise with the engineering department at WEG Brazil to streamline engineering processes. CUSTOMERS: o Assisting customers with technical queries. o Provide technical support within the department and to customers. o Negotiating orders. OTHER: o Continuously improving internal systems and procedures. o Sharing technical knowledge - formal and informal training. Assisting in set-up of training manuals on motors. o Monitoring motor developments by competitors. o Monitor engineering developments and new projects within the engineering sector. GENERAL: o The prescribed Company Procedures including Signature Mandates must be complied with at all times. o All staff is required to service customers promptly and courteously and to ensure that calls are returned that queries are speedily answered and that all commitments are timeously fulfilled. o Perform any other reasonable duty delegated to you. WORKING CONDITIONS: Predominantly office based. Out of office requirements from time to time. Is subject to work beyond normal working hours evenings weekends and holidays should the need arise. Position may require out of town travel. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to read write speak and understand the English language. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing including formal communications and making presentations. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant. Must have patience tact a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations. Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously. Ability to work well in a team setting. Must have excellent technical and communication skills. Good telephone manner. The ability to work under pressure. A keen sense of urgency and a willingness to learn additional job related skills. A code 8 driver s license.
