Job Purpose Main contact for HR business partners line managers and employees to advice around aspects of international assignment policy and practices. Responsible for working with external vendors to manage the practical aspects of moves into and out of South Africa Work proactively with HR Business partners to manage their global employee population Advise HR Business partners and Line Managers on the most suitable assignment options Preparation of assignment letters and other assignment related documentation Working with service providers to coordinate accommodation relocation education immigration tax and other benefits Apply consistency and fairness in the application of the Company s International Mobility policies and practices Managing exceptions to International Mobility policy and raising any potential policy exceptions Good working knowledge of SA immigration requirements and work permit process Consult with the Company to find the most appropriate work permit option Regular training with HR business partners to ensure they understand immigration changes and the impact this will have on the business Working with the Firms tax providers to ensure employee tax compliance in the home and host countries Working with Payroll and Group Tax to ensure assignee benefits provided in South Africa are appropriately taxed Be a point of contact for HR business partners and line managers Advise HR business partners recruiters and line managers on immigration process and resolve application problems Generate and maintain international assignment reports regarding assignment data costs salary and benefit information Maintaining confidential information appropriately throughout transactions Process monitoring including pack dates insurance etc Overseeing all aspects of the immigration process in conjunction with the immigration providers and provide guidance and advice Competencies Working with people Adhering to principles and values Relating and networking Persuading and influencing Presenting and communicating information Following instructions and procedures Coping with pressure and setbacks Minimum Requirements Relevant National Diploma in HR or equivalent NQF level 5 qualification or higher Five (5) years industry related experience Five (5) years experience managing a small expatriate population Strong knowledge of expatriate issues Knowledge of either SA tax or immigration legislation and experience of applying this to expatriate management Proficient in MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook) and the Internet No criminal record Preferred requirements HR tax or immigration qualification Five (5) years experience within Expat environment Five (5) investment banking experience Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent residents of South Africa in possession of proof of permanent resident status
