To create fit for purpose drawings of mechanical structural or civil engineering design to be issued for fabrication design or construction Produce Drawings Receive an instruction and appropriate design and engineering information from the Section Leader Utilise 3D models where appropriate to create the drawings Create 2D drawings of procedure in the handling updating and publication of these drawings Update existing drawings to reflect design changes Liaise with the Engineering Department to incorporate and clarify engineering design Submit drawings to Section Leader Produce drawings in accordance with the drawing procedures (SMS 099) Schedule work activities Schedule work to manage own time as per the deliverables by completing timesheets keeping track of time spent per drawing and filling in history cards of each drawing Submit schedules on the Prosquid on a weekly basis Participate in Design and Drawing Review Present the 3D Models and/or 2D drawing to the project engineering and design staff for the purpose of reviewing layouts and design Administration Update the Reference Folder for each activity on a daily basis (history card and reference data sheets are available0 Keep records of hours worked per activity Formal Education: Minimum Grade 12 with a Trade Certificate or a Draughting Diploma (NQF 5) B Tech would be advantageous Diploma in Draughting Minimum 8 - 10 years draughting experience in a structural and/or civil mechanical discipline within materials handling industry Minimum 5 years 3D Modelling experience NB: Sound knowledge of AutoCAD Inventor NX Teamcentre Sound Knowledge of structural and/or mechanical design detailing Sound knowledge of best practice within the particular discipline Time Management: The ability to manage time effectively and efficiently in accordance with work priorities to ensure qualitative outcomes Communication: The ability to communicate effectively and efficiently at al levels in the organisation Interpersonal: The ability to interact with people at all levels in the organisation Problem Solving: The ability to apply the principles of problem solving technciques to identify and resolve a problem in the best interest of all stakeholders Planning and organising: The ability to apply planning techniques to conduct effective planning of work outputs and resources Attention to detail Work under pressure Accuracy Self-responsibility Deadline Driven Team Player Patience Mentorship
