Key Performance areas: ? Manage Vessel and Quayside Safety: The risk of health & safety incidences is reduced to an absolute minimum ? Ensure Legislative Compliance: Legal requirements w.r.t health & safety are fully complied with ? Lead a Team: Lead a team of Safety Officers ? Manage Key Relationships: Develop and maintain productive working relationships with key external partners as well as with internal stakeholders The successful candidate must have: ? Matric with a SAMTRAC Marine Safety Officer certificate Senior Mariners qualification or equivalent ? Minimum 8 years experience in H&S preferably in the commercial fishing industry ? Must have Sea Going experience ? Must have knowledge in: o SAMSA regulations o Contents of Merchant Shipping Act as regards Risk Health & Safety o Occupational Health & Safety Act o COID Act o Environmental Protection Act o Maritime Pollution Act (MARPOL) o Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) o Portnet Rules & Regulations w.r.t Health & Safety o Workmen s Compensation Act o Incident Investigation processes o Application of safety best practices o Class requirements ? Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) ? Must have proven leadership skills ?
