This FMCG company has a 6 month contract for a Category Insights Manager . Job Purpose: To provide strategic direction by unlocking consumer and shopper behavioural understanding enabling realisation of core company goals at a customer level. To provide a holistic perspective informed by consumer research and by proactively sharing actionable insights and hypothesis to enhance short and long term business decisions. Also to support range extensions/NPD listings and defensive positions when necessary across accounts. Consumer Perspective: Communicates findings implications and recommendations to varied stakeholder audiences across all levels of the company. Educates stakeholders on consumer insights and how to leverage the function to make informed business decisions. Identifies business issues and opportunities translates into research objectives and recommends appropriate new research solutions to act against them. Leads consumer research initiatives across business units and various cross-functional teams. Provides an informed and objective perspective as a subject matter expert to business critical requests for consumer insight data. Provides consumer insight and actionable information to enhance the quality of business decisions and strategy. Recommends business opportunities and strategic direction to senior leadership by incorporating the consumers perspective. Customer Perspective: Develop a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics and purchase decisions. Supports the sales effort with detailed and substantiated data insight (the means ) to justify the proposition (the end ). Collate and prepare regular data/information in a clear and concise manner that can be taken directly to the trade. Review major promotions from a consumer (not financial) perspective. General: Utilise the resources of the Quality Department. Consumer Panel to sense check views. Produce what s new document for the whole business on a quarterly basis. Develop a strong network internally and with external agencies and industry bodies. Sources and manages vendors. To support sales and marketing in relation to substantiated idea generation and innovative strategies to ensure we do things better tomorrow than we did today. Additionally raise the profile of company via a new found professionalism through viable alternative solutions to the market leaders.
