OBSERVATION: Should be able to identify hazardous situations and impending plant failure. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAS) Electrical welding Gas welding and Gas cutting and burning equipment Ensure that all equipment is kept stored and cleaned in a secure storage area. Cleaning of plant workshop area. Ensures that the plant lock out procedure is followed when carrying out maintenance in hazardous areas. Visually checks plant and reports defects to Plant Manager. DUTIES RELATED TO KPAS Carrying out routine welding maintenance duties. Cleaning of workshop and working areas. Maintaining boilermaking maintenance equipment in a tidy and safe condition. Ensure that the plant lock out procedure is followed at all times. Ensure that he/she is familiar with the SHE constraints in place on the operation ADHOC ISSUES Plant Workload: Carry out random checks and inspections to ensure equipment conforms to SHEQ requirements. Complete monthly safety register for cutting and welding equipment and ensure register is countersigned by Plant Manager Carry out random checks and inspections to ensure equipment is adequate to address production requirements. Carry out random checks and inspections to ensure equipment is adequate destroy equipment which is no longer serviceable. Maintain personal protective equipment in a serviceable condition. Safety Health and Environmental Control Attend the regular SHE meetings and maintain a constant awareness of SHEQ requirements. Attend the regular SHE forums and Green Area briefings. General Any other duties as required due to plant breakdown or due to a lack of demand for the final product.
