The Role Sector planning and management Devise and deliver a practical strategy for developing local and global business in their sector. Lead the annual budget proposal process to fund the components of your marketing plan; evaluate efficiencies track spend against budget allocation measure and report on return on investment. Demonstrate understanding of Headlight strategy expertise and best practice with fee-earners trainees secretarial and team administrative support as well as other team members to develop their understanding of the Group s approach to business development. Integration: manage the integration of NRSA practice into the Headlight. Client / business development Project manage sector bids and panel pitches with input and implementation by the bids team; provide strategic input on approach team formations based on sector / client knowledge review and edit content where necessary; supervise the bids team in development and maintenance of a library of sector relevant bid content in collaboration with the Head of Bids. Submissions: work with headlight and central submissions teams on all submissions to ensure the right people are people positioned correctly. Actively strive to increase team s rankings and promote the best individuals Client programmes: - work with the central key client team on firm s local key clients relevant to the headlight provide strategic input to the management of sector opportunities with global and regional Key Clients for this headlight; - manage and develop major sector clients; - identify business development priorities and target billings with appropriate clients and drive realisation of sector opportunities; Commission and oversee research on client organisations and industries with assistance from the library and other sources (like CMS) to identify issues which can drive Headlight activity. Corporate communications Bids: Supervise and guide the bids team in the development of high quality materials for the sector for use in proposals as boiler plate text and to convey key messages to clients and targets. Publications/brochures: Supervise and guide publications team on relevant material needed for client interactions E-media: Ensure all marketing communications channels are exploited to convey consistent messages about the sector our expertise and experience (including the development of the use of social media in consultation with the central e-media team). PR: Drive Headlight PR with the assistance of the central communications team for the sector with respect to press releases articles directories and league tables in co-operation with the central PR team. Overall responsibility for ensuring all on- and off-line marketing collateral is compliant with visual identity guidelines. Marketing campaigns and projects Lead the management and implementation of Headlight campaigns in consultation with the Headlight leaders demonstrating leadership skills to structure campaigns for optimum performance against objectives including coaching of direct reports (BD Manager and team administrators) in this regard. Consult Headlight leader and partners on their vision for campaigns and campaign components. Through brainstorming project planning ROI measurement and maintaining awareness of competitor and peer activity develop innovative thought-leadership activity focused on market trends which feed our Headlight campaigns. Develop marketing campaigns which use the full marketing mix to raise and maintain awareness of our leading sector position; will facilitate new client relationship generation and development of existing relationships; are focused on client needs; and can be monitored and evaluated for generating a return on expenditure. Focus on use of different communications channels and development of multi-level campaign activity to grow engagement by international offices in Headlight marketing in collaboration with international Business Development and fee-earners. Management Oversee contribution of team administrative staff to Headlight work as necessary. Working with the Headlight Leader devise global strategy and share expertise and best practice to develop sector teams understanding of Group s approach to business development. Any other projects as directed by Head of BD/head of marketing. Requirements relevant degree and/or professionally recognised marketing or communications qualification. eight or more years relevant experience in a legal professional services or a relevant business sector environment; demonstrates a deep understanding of BD strategy in a global professional services organisation; experience of delivering cross-border business development and marketing campaigns using the full marketing mix working with international BD staff; proactive business development professional who can lead activity rather than simply taking ideas and delivering them to best practice; drives change initiatives across the Headlight; managerial skills (management of small teams); makes links and connections with the wider business outside area of specialisation; strong writing and editorial skills; excellent project management skills demonstrate experience managing projects within a virtual team environment and managing expectations; confident persuasive and assertive; builds trust amongst the partnership; ability to be client facing. or to apply for this vacancy.
