This role involves shifts as it supports operations in Africa. No night shifts, but Saturdays and Public Holidays. Mission/ Core purpose of the Job : Manager, EAM is part of the Finance Service Delivery function at the SSH. The role would lead and have oversight of the EAM (Projects and Fixed Assets) team at the SSH and support activities for the Operating Companies (Opcos) and SSH. The incumbent would also be responsible for managing asset adjustment, managing project reporting and project & asset data masters activities apart from managing the EAM team at the SSH. The Manager, EAM reports to the General Manager, Finance Service Delivery and is supported by Supervisors and Administrators. In addition to the oversight of the EAM team, the purpose of this role is also to partner with Finance Centre of Excellence (CoE) and Opcos, as applicable to ensure effective and efficient EAM operations via Oracle and non-process workflows as applicable. Key Performance Areas: Strategy Development and Implementation Lead creation of sub-divisional strategy in line with overarching divisional goals Ensure effective implementation of sub-divisional strategy by means of providing direction, structure, business plans and support Staff Leadership and Management Source, induct, and manage talent in accordance with legislative guidelines Ensure open communication channels with staff and implement change management interventions where necessary Provide definition of roles, responsibilities, individual goals and performance objectives for the team Set key performance indicators and provide regular performance feedback through a well-defined and implemented performance review program Develop and implement a training plan in order to build and develop skills within the team Performance manage resources in accordance with HR policy and legislation where necessary Actively participate in leadership team and develop skills of own team Promote a company centric and partnership approach to develop strong relationships with other working groups and ensure adherence to Group governance Governance Adhoc and Operational Meetings Set up / participate in adhoc and operational meetings Report at process and functional level Escalations Manage and resolve escalations that have impact on critical path of service delivery Escalate issues that will result in significant time, scope, employee/client or cost impacts if not resolved Manage and provide solutions to issues that require formal resolution SSH Operational Set up and manage project status meetings Review and identify key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions Manage budgets Sign-off / make decisions regarding operational changes Performance Review performance against agreed key performance indicators and compliance to service level agreements Create and monitor plan for continuous improvement Review performance of Share Service Center teams Reporting Report on a monthly basis to the General Manager, Finance Service Delivery relating to progress made within the sub-division and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organisation Report on specific projects as per the defined timelines Budgets Manage sub-divisional budgets in line with business objectives Manage project initiative budgets in line with business objectives Operational Delivery Manage Asset Adjustments - Review work order reports for asset retirement and disposal - Review and validate if retired assets are removed from Fixed Assets Register(FAR) and tax FAR - Review tax treatment of retired/sold/scrapped/transferred asset - Validate compliance with the organisation and statutory requirements on or before retirement/sales/scrapped/transfer of asset - Review and approve other asset adjustments related requests - Review and approve property management related requests Manage Project Reporting and Dashboard - Review reporting templates - Validate inter dependency in dashboard and evaluate their accuracy - Review and provide inputs for analysis of data and validate explanation for the variance - Provide and manage approval on reports Manage Data Masters - Manage Item Masters - Manage WBS Masters - Manage Site Masters Others - Support EAM CoE in o Maintenance of CAPEX Investment and Project Management toolkits o Review of Opco reports (standard and adhoc) on EAM o Updates to Maintenance Strategy o Review of FAR on a period basis o Reconciliation of physical assets with FAR o Management of Master Data Management (MDM) and Business Intelligence (BI) reporting o Collaborate with multiple stakeholders at Opcos - HR for staffing, people initiatives and attrition management, project management team in ensuring minimal challenges in sourcing for projects, quality team to ensure process improvement Initiatives, IT on automation / digitization initiatives for the process Identifying innovative changes to fixed asset and projects processes based on industry leading practices Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities Coach and mentor direct reports to ensure staff motivation is high Ensure skill transfer for staff development, motivation, and business continuity Ensure the team is led, motivated and rewarded to achieve high performance areas Guide and direct vendors and third parties in achieving SSH objectives Identify staff training and development needs and implement necessary actions Manage team (including recruitment, on-boarding, attrition) Set goals and objectives for direct reports, monitor progress and maintain motivation Set up appropriate structure to meet departmental management objectives Candidate Requirements This role involves shifts as it supports operations in Africa.
