National Retailer of Building Material and DIY Products has an excellent position vacant for a Credit Controller for their branch in Lydenburg. The duties of the successful incumbent would be to ensure the timeous collection of the company s debtors in order to maximize cash flow of the business minimise the risk of bad debts and reduce the debtors day to an acceptable level. To ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to in respect of the granting of credit to customers . Requirements: Matric or Grade 12 certificate Credit control qualification would be an advantage Must be computer literate on MS Office must be strong and confident with Excel 4 - 7 years debtors / credit controlling experience Debtors experience in retail environment would be an advantage Management of the accounts according to the specific payment terms and credit l imits with the policies and procedures of the company Opening of Accounts Collection of relevant contractual documentation and supporting documents required to open the account. Collection of monies - Monies collected according to relevant payment terms / credit limits. Allocation of payments Payments allocated as soon as cleared funds are on the bank statement. Allocations done according to remittances. Review credit limits Credit limits are reviewed at least twice a year or if required for increase / decrease purposes. Master filing of all essential and required information Debtor information to be kept up to date at all times. Cash flow forecast Expected receipts to be submitted to Financial Manager by Friday each week. Age Analysis preparation Age analysis to be correct and updated with explanations for all overdue amounts. Minutes of monthly debtors review Must be completed within 24 hours of debtors review and forwarded to the Iliad Credit Manager Maintenance of debtors files and statutory information Debtor files must be up dated and correct documentation on file at all times for audit purposes. The ability to express oneself clearly and effectively to customers and within the company Be aware and report any issues that might put the business at risk. Attention to detail Ability to handle a large volume of transactions Proactive approach to query resolution Applicant must reside in the Lydenburg or surrounding area or be willing to relocate.
