BOOKKEEPER

Key responsibilities: Purchase supplies and equipment as authorized by management Maintain Fixed asset registers Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner Take all reasonable discounts on supplier invoices Pay any authorized debt as it comes due for payment Issue invoices to customers Ensure that accounts receivables are collected on time Record cash receipts and make bank deposits Conduct a monthly bank reconciliation of every bank account Conduct monthly reconciliations of all balance sheets accounts to ensure their accuracy Maintain the petty cash reconciliation Prepare monthly management accounts in the prescribed format Prepare the audit file for the external auditors Maintain an orderly accounting filing system Maintain the chart of accounts Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management Reconcile and submit VAT returns on a monthly basis Reconcile and submit PAYE returns on a monthly basis Maintain accurate stock reports Collate payroll information in a timely manner Produce weekly financial reports as required by management Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested Qualifications: The candidate should have as a minimum a diploma in bookkeeping and a sound knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Preference will be given to candidates with a working knowledge of the Pastel evolution accounting software package. 6 Month Contract Duties: Identify MDR TB outpatients to be follow-up and link outpatients back to referring clinics. Connect outpatients to DOT and relocate DOT supporters to allow for easy connection of outpatients to DOT supporters. GPS outpatients and DOT supporters. Trace and refer case contacts who are TB suspects and ensure TB testing and treatment for those diagnosed with TB. Collecting sputum specimens. Compiling and maintaining logs. Liaising with coordinators/clinic staff within the Department of Health and relevant community stakeholders. Writing reports and assisting the project managers with other tasks when needed. Requirements: Have a Matric certificate (a relevant certificate or diploma would be advantageous) Have experience in conducting outreach and other fieldwork activities for community-based research projects Have knowledge of TB and of the TB programme Have experience of working in the TB programme Fluency in English and isiZulu a valid drivers license and computer literacy are essential. 6 month contract Minimum experience and qualification: CIMA qualification Two years experience in a similar role Advanced excel skills Preferable to have been exposed to Sharepoint Mindjet and power pivot ERP experience would be advantageous (particularly having been involved in the implementation of management or yield accounting in the system) Key area of performance: Defining and documenting the companies expected yield accounting outputs Defining costing methods to be used across the various departments in the company Assisting management Accounting team with defining and setting up the management Accounting function Standards: Meet with various key role players to understand what they require out of yield accounting.
