Business Analyst A fast growing Asset Management firm with R100bn worth of assets under management is looking for a Business Analyst. Its software has been developed in-house and the proprietary algorithms and systems have provided a competitive advantage in the market. Up until now all requirement gathering has been done by a combination of business subject matter experts product owners and software developers. As the company makes a leap to the next level of systems maturity you would be establishing and growing a professional business analysis competency within the organization at an exciting time in its history. The day to day job will include running workshops meetings demos and giving feedback to the stakeholders in order to build a shared understanding of the requirements validate them and document them. The documents required are at the level of business requirement and functional specification but not technical. Some of your interaction will be with our marketing and design team to determine design and brand constraints and devise software user experiences that conform to them. During development sprints you will work closely with a team of developers and testers to support their understanding of the requirements and make decisions in conjunction with business on specific details. You will act as the liaison between the business units technology team and support teams. Skills Required Team orientation Client focus Understand the User Story / Use Case format Gaining stakeholder commitment Other Requirements Draw up business requirements documentation outlining the business objectives business case prioritization proposed processes detailed requirements proposed interfaces (where applicable) use cases and test criteria. Assist with testing to ensure that the requirements meet the minimum quality standards and services the business objectives. Work with the business owners to produce accurate meaningful and measurable business use cases. Strong business writing skills are a must. Provide input to the product and project documentation including high-level business requirements issues and risks. As a secondary role you will be required to collate estimates prepare project plans track dependencies and present status reports. You will be involved in negotiating scope cost and time variables in the project planning phase. Assist systems management function with setting up and undertaking systems user-acceptance tests and co-ordinate all user acceptance testing regarding securing of testers location access rights and documentation of all results Minimum Requirements Bachelors Degree related to engineering computer science business science or informatics Five (5) years business analysis and business consulting experience Proficient in MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook) and the internet This is a great opportunity to get involved in an exciting company and work in the web and mobile space.
