Additional: Qualification in open cut mining other discipline eg survey Qualification or study in mine planning (particularly short term planning) PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES To live and work in Tanzania. Adhere to the project team code of conduct. Work as a team member in a multi facet project. Comply with project directives and team requirements. Provide technical advice and coaching to mine personnel as required by the project. Provide operational advice to mine personnel as required by project including: o Compliance with site safety procedures o Operations planning weekly planning process o General improve load & haul operation o Reduce equipment damage and costs o Optimize machine capacity o Improve equipment utilization o Enhance work area flow and safety o Comply with daily production management system o Participate in daily production meetings o Participate in weekly planning process Maintain the ability to travel internationally and work various rosters.. Provide coaching and advice the project is not responsible for production performance RESPONSIBILITIES/HEALTH AND SAFETY Become familiar with site OH&S procedures and adhere to all site legislative requirements. OPEN CUT MINING EXPERIENCE: Base: 15 years as a open cut machine operator (particularly excavators shovels) 5 years supervisor Worked in different companies Gold or hard rock mining environments Plus - Ideal: 2 or more years as senior supervisor responsible for multiple working areas 4-6 diggers. Superintendent responsible for multiple pits Production supervisor/superintendent who has working in short term planning. Short term planner with superintendent experience KPA s ensure risk assessments are completed to required standards by improving hazard identification and control reduce potential rick and equipment stress/damage random auditing of operator equipment pre start inspections by Significant increase in identification and reporting of defects improved reliability increase equipment planned maintenance less breakdown maintenance Reporting/actions for non compliance to procedures by Significant increase in operator knowledge and compliance to procedures. More disciplined workforce PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS Working knowledge of production management systems standards procedures techniques. Working knowledge of mining operations as superintendent and supervisor. Experience and the ability to teach mining equipment and technical applications. Ability to utilize a computer and generate presentations and correspondence. Microsoft Programs Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to liaise with people at all levels and different cultures. Not easily frustrated or prone to lose temper To use civilized language at all times Honest truthful pleasant personality yet not weak and easy to be ignored or pushed around.
