Bambelela Resource Optimisation Senior Study Manager Key Performance Areas Financial schedule and cost control Client liaison Key Responsibilities: 1.Provide strategic leadership and mentoring to Study Managers and Study Engineers. 2.Working closely with the Studies Team and coordinating their inputs ensure that assigned feasibility studies are completed on time per the proposed timeframes within budget and to the required standards of quality. 3.Undertake site visits to the Project location and areas for project sourcing. 4.Identify local and foreign suppliers and vendors. 5.Identify applicable local laws and rules. 6.Generate specifications for enquiries on mechanical equipment from the Process Department s equipment lists. 7.Compile and/or coordinate compilation of bills of quantities. 8.Write up sections of the study documents and compile entire report. 9.Liaise and communication with the client as required. 10.Conduct infrastructure assessments and costing thereof which includes tailings dams power supply accommodation roads water supply etc. 11.Compile tender documents for issue to prospective suppliers and contractors. 12.Appoint consultants in areas where specific expertise is required. 13.Conduct risk analyses as required 14.Conduct financial evaluations including grade revenue TRA general running costs of the mining fleet plant operating costs. 15.Prepare and conduct a detailed hand over of a study to the Projects Department once MDME has been awarded the execution of the project. 16.Focus on securing follow-up work from the client. 17.Assist in business development activities as required. Critical Competencies: Education: 1.BSc. Degree in Engineering other relevant tertiary engineering qualification or equivalent workplace experience. Experience: 1.A minimum of 10 years experience in engineering management or project management within the projects environment. Technical: 1.Commitment to leading and mentoring study managers and study engineers to develop their capacity and skills. 2.Good working experience in & knowledge of MS Project and/or Primavera planning system 3.Advanced computer literacy skills in MS Office especially Excel. 4.Good English language and communication skills both oral and written 5.Good numeric skills 6.Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and interact with Design Office personnel. 7.MDM brand awareness. 8.Ability to lead and work well within multidisciplinary teams. Bambelela Resource Optimisation Marine Division Manager As Marine Division Manager responsible for managing Marine Division commercially and operationally. Key performance areas include: managing the marketing and business development activities of the Marine Division ensuring client satisfaction and performance excellence through the effective management of the Marine Division operations managing the profitability and financial performance of the Marine Division including reporting on actual versus budget variance commentary and debtors management overall ensuring that all vessels comply with all relevant legislation regulations and class/flag requirements ensuring the optimal utilisation and operational availability of all marine assets overseeing the planned maintenance system and conducting regular vessel condition and process/documentation audits providing marine support to Site/Project Managers as required The successful candidate will meet the following minimum criteria: Deck Officer/ Marine Engineer Certificate of Competency at least 5 to 8 years experience as a Senior Officer at sea or in a Technical/Marine Superintendent role ashore or in a similar marine commercial/ chartering role computer literacy including MS Excel and planned maintenance ability to monitor and set-up timescales and plans. Candidates must be willing and prepared to work extensive amounts of overtime as and when required and: be available around the clock telephonically be able to successfully adapt to changing demands and conditions be able to maintain effective work behaviour in the face of setbacks or pressure and deal with pressure calmly be able to organise and schedule events activities and resources.
