Quest Plant Manager - Automotive Industry MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE INCUMBENT: Must have a Production/Operations Management-diploma/degree Metallurgical qualification/experience essential e.g. Heat treatment Quenching Time-Temperature-Transformation diagrams Microstructures etc. Lean manufacturing/Industrial engineering-experience MDP/MBA will be beneficial Minimum of 7 years production management experience at a senior level with an exceptional financial acumen Automotive experience will be beneficial Exceptional people management and communication skills Self-motivated team player and able to delegate Innate drive to achieve quality standards Good planning motivational and mentoring skills Results driven and a good understanding of process control and improvements root cause analysis etc. Ability to respond quickly and cope under pressure Computer literate (SysPro MS Office) THE POSITION IN PERSPECTIVE: Taking full responsibility for the production activities within the rounds plant as a whole which will typically include safety output scrap rework overtime absenteeism discipline budgets cost control planning quality housekeeping improvement plans WIP control etc. DUTIES WILL INCLUDE: Promote safety-and environmental awareness Total accountability and responsibility for the plant as a whole Ensure costs are controlled within the various cost centres KPI s Control stock-and finished goods levels Monitor performance of sub-ordinates quantifiable targets Enforce discipline in line with the Company s Disciplinary Code Monitor absenteeism overtime etc. Form part and participate in the IR and EE committees Ensure that quality standards are adhered to at all times Ensure continuous improvements Enforcing and maintaining housekeeping principles and practices Date: 25 February 2013 City/Town: Nigel East Rand Location: Gauteng Wage/Salary: Neg plus car allowance Start: Asap Duration: Permanent Type: Full Time How to apply: e-mail Company: Quest Contact: Karen Scamuzzi Phone: Fax: Email: Eligibility note: It is unlawful to employ a person who does not have permission to live and work in South Africa.
