KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES MEASURES & INTERFACES To evaluate complex risks and assess the probability and potential of those risks financial consequences with a particular emphasis on: Oversee asset and liability modeling and contribute to the development of Asset liability management policy ; Development and/or implementation of pricing and/or reserving policy for ECIC; Develop and implement the data management framework; Ensure technical pricing models are in place and reviewed regularly and that any deviation is justified and monitored; Contribute to the development of underwriting policies; Explain the methodologies and underlying models used as well as assumptions made in the calculation of technical provisions to company executives government officials shareholders policyholders and/or the public; Prepare technical reserve reports quarterly and annually and provide similar reports to FSB Board committees and the Board (as required); Comply with key regulatory and risk management procedures/methodologies; Determine and calculate the technical provisions of ECIC; Determine and calculate ECIC s solvency position including calculation of the minimum capital required in line with the regulatory requirement as determined by FSB from time to time; Ensure that the pricing methodologies of ECIC and the pricing of ECIC products is proper and adequate with due consideration to industry practices and international benchmarks such as the OECD guidelines on the pricing of export credit insurance; Contribute to the development and implementation of the Own Risk Solvency Assessment (ORSA) model and any internal models; Maintain and calculate the capital model for ECIC; Key contact person with FSB regarding any actuarial matters; Contribute to the development of reinsurance policy and review the adequacy of the reinsurance arrangement; Develop and implement procedures to compare best estimate against actual experience; Key Measures Quality of technical reserve reports submitted( accuracy and adequate data); Updated models and policies; Minimal risks within underwriting; Key Interfaces Office of the Chief Executive Officer All Operations functions especially Underwriting ECIC Board ECIC Executives and Managers Various committees Parliament and Government Departments Regulatory Stakeholders ECIC shareholder QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Must be a qualified Actuary. Additional business qualifications are an added advantage; 5-8 years of insurance actuarial pricing experience; Project Management experience is a requirement; Extensive experience in Microsoft Office packages e.g. Word; Excel and Power-Point; SKILLS & ABILITIES The incumbent should have demonstrated the following competencies: Proven proficiency in actuarial concepts/methodologies; Proficiency in developing pricing models; Proficiency in Excel; Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels (Parliament Minister Board Executives Staff and other key Stakeholders); Ability to coordinate and manage multiple functions; Ability to communicate actuarial concepts to non-specialists Ability to forge relationships with other areas of the business and at all levels; Strong aptitude for problem resolution and decision making; Able to demonstrate a high degree of integrity; Problem solving skills to identify issues and present creative and practical solutions; Excellent analytical skills; Strict attention to detail and deadline orientated; Strong leadership skills required to manage the actuarial function.
