Managing Director - Distribution Channel Reports to Chairman and Board of Directors Qualification: Tertiary marketing or business qualification with appropriate business skills at executive level Experience: Business experience in the financial services and/or healthcare sector providing the basis for both strategic and tactical decision making A minimum of 5 years marketing experience at a senior management level. Strategic marketing experience at an executive and senior management level Experience in the establishing and execution of distribution strategies in the financial services sector Client relations skills Oversee the distribution strategies of the group and manage the distribution philosophy Ensure effective corporate communication with brokers and other stake holders Ensure that the Company effectively differentiates itself from its competitors by capitalising on its strengths (both current and potential) to provide consistently better value to customers than its competitors. Ensure understanding of the firm s capabilities and aspirations the customer market and the competitive landscape in order to maximise the Company s positive differentiation over competitors in the eyes of its target market. Identifies new business opportunities and converts these into the company s clients Experience with the working and creation of loyalty programmes Off shore financial services experience would be advantageous Framework for Performance Plan: Managing Director KRA Objective Tracking Sources Weighting 1. Formulates and implements strategic plans Formulates company strategic plans in respect of marketing distribution and loyalty strategies for the group companies its products and services distributed by the company which are in line with the group s strategy Formulate distribution strategies in collaboration with the Distribution Executive to ensure competitiveness Manage and re-evaluates business strategies to ensure Competitiveness and financial viability Ensure that broad marketing targets are converted into specific sales objectives Determine potential clients and identify strategies in order to secure business across all responsible areas Business Plans 2. Develops business opportunities Grows existing business to meet and exceed budgeted targets for the company and group companies Investigates local sales opportunities as well as possible merger and acquisition strategies Investigate and prepare business cases for possible new ventures Closes new business through developing relationships with potential clients and ensuring effective marketing strategy. Develops new models suitable to the needs of potential clients to grow subsidiaries. Targets key decision makers within prospective clients Collaborates with the appropriate internal and external stakeholders to market the Company and its subsidiaries Income Statement Sales funnel New Ventures 3. Financial management Develops annual budgets in collaboration with internal and external resources to ensure financial viability of the company and group companies Manage cash resources of the company Review 6 month cash flow projections and take appropriate action Make substantiated long term financing decisions Analyse correct and respond to management accounts Manage income statement variances to Budget Ensure correct control mechanisms are in place Cash flow projections Management Accounts 4. Continuously improves processes and procedures Identifies areas of improvement to meet business needs. Encourage formulation of process and technological improvement solutions to enhance efficiencies Minutes of meetings Project Plans Business specs Income Statement 5. Capacity Planning Prepares Company consolidated budgets annually within stipulated timeframes. Ensure management of costs/expenditure in accordance with budget Budget Financial Report variance Business Specs 6. Manages staff Responsible to manage the following direct reports: Distribution Executive Marketing Executive Zurreal Executive Ensures management development evidenced by skills improvement for direct reports Agrees performance expectations and reviews achievement quarterly for direct reports. Coaches and counsels poor performance for direct reports. Recruits appropriate staff so that right person for position in place for direct reports Knowledge tests for staff Absenteeism reports Direct Reports performance targets/reports Disciplinary Recruitment requests 7. Self development and performance management Networks with key internal and external players establishing relationships Reviews literature and attend meetings to identify trends. Schedules bi-annual performance discussions
