Minimum Requirements: Relevant Technical Qualification (Electrical Electronic Process Engineering) Job mission: To perform Measurement Control and Instrumentation activities and maintenance to all UCG plants Perform fault finding and inspection Do routine inspection on allocated plant and equipment by identifying reporting and recording the abnormalities Analyse and decide if any required action need to be taken to ensure that the plant reliability and availability are not endangered during fault finding and repairs Perform fault finding by checking various basic measurement to ensure correct operation using test equipment and specialized drawings Carry out planned /unplanned maintenance Calibrate basic flow level pressure and temperature transmitter using the calibration equipment such as comparator potentiometer manometer pressure gauges dead weight tester and decade boxes Stroke checking of all motorised and pneumatic valves Adjusting the limit switches and torque switches Consulting / checking the drawings and manual to ensure tasks are performed on the correct equipment and can be carried out safely Installing new or replacing old piping impulse lines cable trucking to and from transmitter using pipe bender thread cutter Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities as per laid downprocedures Take out permits by conducting risk assessments checking correctness of the isolations signing permits to carry out repairs/services and on completion clearing the permits Repair/replace faulty field equipment as instructed Manufacture components according to drawings specifications tolerance and standards e.g. Instrument Nodes Metering stations Report to supervisor any recurring defects Initiate appropriate actions to rectify any unsafe activities/or plant conditions. Job Description: To provide a specialist research and training service to the Underground Coal Gasification team. Minimum Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualification (Chemical) Gas and Petrol Chemical Environment Minimum of 5 years Experience Provide key technical input for the strategic aims of the project: Perform technology assessment to confirm and advise management of technical difficulties and limitations of various technologies Provide a link between technical matters and the strategic objectives of the project Evaluation of air emissions and comparison of these to other available fossil fuel based power generation technologies Evaluation of specific regulated air emission compounds and propose position of UCG technology with regard to environmental standards and guidelines Provide input into Power Distribution project life cycle management systems to allow for the incorporation of pilot plant specific requirements UCG Technology optimisation: Evaluate gasification performance and extraction rates and efficiencies Determination of impact of gasifier performance on air emissions Engage with relevant regulatory departments on technical basis Review and assist with linkage technologies and selection thereof Gas specification investigation to support gas clean-up requirements Development of gasifier models to predict maximum gasifier performance and yield Technical support for Environmental Permit Applications: Compilation of environmental application documentation to support EIA Participation in public participation meetings to provide technical support to EIA team Preparation of reports to address environmental concerns of technology Preparation and delivery of presentations to various stakeholders detailing the technical aspects of UCG Assist in development of environmental compliance guidelines for UCG operations Performing air emission estimates to support EIA application and larger air quality assessment studies Gas treatment technology selection and optimisation application Determine key technology challenges which may affect the performance of the gas clean-up system specifically for UCG Determining sulphur and nitrogen containing components clean-up requirements Determination of water production data and storage/ disposal capabilities This is a 12 Month Contract Position. Main Purpose of the Job To coordinate industrial relations activities on site on a project Minimum Qualification Bachelor Degree/Diploma with appropriate and relevant IR/HR Courses Minimum Experience 3 5 years in industrial relations preferably in the construction/contracting environment major project experience is preferred Key Performance Areas Procurement Phase Participate in the negotiation of a Project Labour Agreement (PLA) as required Ensure Industrial Relations Policy and Management Plan (IRPMP) and PLA is included in tender processes and documentation in order to bind contactors to comply with contractual requirements Prepare and distribute to Contractors pre-construction IR Kick-off Pack forms and templates in order to effectively administer the management of industrial relations and Contractor reporting on site Participate in site based Bid Clarification meetings and Site Inspection meetings and brief Contractors on industrial relations requirements during construction Construction Phase Co-ordinate the Industrial Relations activities of all Contractors on the Project Ensure Contractor compliance to the Industrial Relations Policy and Management Plan on site Ensure Contractor compliance to the Project Labour Agreement if applicable Ensure effective communication across the Project in relation to Industrial Relations matters Ensure a uniform approach amongst Contractors to Industrial Relations issues Convene monthly Industrial Relations Co-ordinating Committee meeting with Contractors IR Practitioners Provide support to the Construction Manager and the Site Industrial Relations Officer on Industrial Relations management during the construction phase Carry out Industrial Relations Audits on Contractors Industrial Relations practices Co-ordinate and monitor labour recruitment and secondment processes of Contractors so as to ensure the optimal utilisation of local labour Ensure effective dispute resolution processes are implemented in the event of disputes or industrial action arising Develop Strike Management Plan for the project site in consultation with Contractors Conduct Industrial Relations risk assessments on site and monitor on the project Submit monthly reports on Industrial Relations performance on the Project Provide feedback on Industrial Relations matters at the monthly construction management meetings Close-Out Phase Co-ordinate and monitor Contractor s labour demobilisation processes Ensure Contractor compliance to demobilization procedures and payments Assist with the resolution of any demobilisation issues that may arise between Contractors and labour Prepare and submit Project Industrial Relations Close-out Report for the site Contact: ATripleA Recruitment and Temps www.aaaa.co.za ferdi aaaa.co.za
