Job Description To provide solutions to applied Rock Engineering problems to ensure the safe and sustainable extraction of the ore reserve. To plan organise lead and control area of responsibility that provide conditions that are conducive to safe and economical extraction of the ore body. Ability and experience to lead and manage staff reporting to the position; Gives/ coordinate on the job training in basic applied rock engineering and strata control techniques; Mine and Support Design through theoretical computer and other techniques combined with geological mining engineering and other knowledge constraints; Monitor manage and maintenance of instrumentation systems for operational effectiveness; Research and development perform test on new equipment methods materials and techniques in applied rock engineering by using specialised equipment. Be pro-active in all aspects of operation safety efficient utilisation of resources continuous improvement initiatives; and encourage teamwork across the department. The major countries you will be working in are: Mozambique Tanzania Zimbabwe Namibia Malawi Angola and Ghana You can be based in South Africa or Dubai or in any of the above mentioned countries. Duties: Carry out a market survey of all mines with an allocated area Develop a strategy for marketing products into these mines Obtain market intelligence on new projects being undertaken by the clients and chemical products being required/offered to the mines Obtain and manage any tenders offered and submitted to the mines.
