Our client in the scientific and technology research organisation has a vacancy in the Radar and Electronic Warfare Systems (Radar & EW) competence area for a Hardware Firmware and Embedded Software Design Engineer. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : The incumbent will be involved in the development of electronic modules and sub-systems. This will include among others: Interpretation of requirements and specifications Interpret user requirement; Generate detailed item development specifications; Generate acceptance test plans; and Generate acceptance test reports. Digital and analogue design: Be involved in complex high-speed digital design; Use VHDL to develop code for programmable logic devices; Do simulations to verify design VHDL functions; Use C to develop code for embedded processors running inside FPGA; Do regression testing to verify developed code; Do schematic capture for PCBs; and Perform simulations to verity signal integrity of PCB designs. Debugging and verification: Use state-of-the-art equipment to debug designs; Do formal functional verification; Do formal acceptance testing; Be involved in system and sub-system integration; and Complete acceptance test reports. Generation of data packs and design documentation: Be involved in the generation of manufacturing data packs; Generate design documentation; and Enter data into data management system. QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: A minimum of a BEng (preferably an M.Eng) degree in electronic engineering. Work experience in a digital design environment more specifically firmware and Embedded software development will be highly advantageous. Formal/informal training or experience programming in VHDL will be advantageous. Formal/informal training or experience programming in C will be advantageous. Formal/informal training or experience in using MATLAB and SIMULINK will be advantageous. Computer literacy using of spreadsheets and word processing software. Knowledge of software used in a hardware design environment will be advantageous. The ideal person would be enthusiastic and self-motivated individual. He/she would have to take ownership of a project and take initiative in their position. He/she would have a sense of urgency and a track record to deliver on brief budget and time. He/she would have the ability to make decisions and would have excellent writing skills.
Take full Ownership on the Civil operations for the delegated Work Scope (Work Units) manage subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of relevant scope in the required quality and in a save working ambient. Ensure proper look ahead regarding design and other relevant drivers and Interface with CMC / CSC on commercial issues to ensure proper transparency on site execution matters. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: Operational: Gives support to The elaboration and necessary revising of the Civil Specialized Structure Schedules (esp. Temp Structure). Determination of Civil QC Inspection Process. Technical execution expertise for a specific subject (soil condition soil improvement concrete works steel structure finishing works roads and landscaping specialized structures). Takes ownership on The Civil Turnover Packages (CTO) definition in the delegated Work Scope (Work Units). Checking of compliance of construction with scope and quality requirements Managerial (Budget / Administration / People) Gives support to Establishing the Execution Progress Reporting. Execution meetings (Kick-off weekly monthly internal and external). Specific Functional/Technical authority (besides DoA): Participation in Civil Construction with Ownership related to Quality and Time Contribution take Ownership and Support related projects to comply with cost time and quality targets. Measurement / Key Performance Indicators Objectives targets and performance measurements are defined on yearly employee s appraisal and Project Targets are set by the Construction Manager Civil / Construction Superintended Civil Civil Program and CTO reliability of related Project Quality of Civil Works of related Project EHS requirements within Civil Works of related Project EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Preferably university degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction Management Minimum Civil diploma or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction Management EXPERIENCE: Previous experience as Supervisor EPC or Subcontractor Company in Power Plant Business Strong ability to communicate verbal and in written English with preferably a second language. Needs to be good in the management of tools and other resources. Has to show good capabilities in the explanation of technical and working processes. Strong intercultural skills and abilities for managing of worldwide processes procedures and leading with local management.

Under direct supervision performs routine assignments as an entry level professional. Develop core job competencies with existing procedures by solving standard problems. Process Design and Contractor (Supplier) documentation Apply codification system correctly utilise client s Systems Attention to detail to ensure data input is correct to provide effective project reporting Produce/prepare reports for Project Participants on a regular basis and ensure 24-hour document processing turn-around time is achieved and maintained. Perform document control & quality management activities to verify completeness and accuracy of data. Execute Project Close-Out Manage archival activities for controlled documents and validation files. Special qualities or experience required: 5 years Document Control experience with knowledge of site document control requirements in a Project Environment of a Technical Nature Application of Large scale Design (Engineering) and Contractor (Vendor) Data Management systems and processes Documentum (EDMS) Experience. Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite & Adobe Acrobat. Experience in compiling end of job documentation document hand over archiving and close-out. Document Expediting.
