ENVIRONMENT: Our client based in Cape Town requires a Software Developer (Business Systems) to join their team. The ideal candidate will work as part of the Business Systems software development team to build and maintain a full spectrum of business-critical back-end systems including planning sales and reporting functionality. DUTIES: Maintain and enhance existing Business Systems including: Databases Database table relationship and index design. SQL script and stored procedure implementation. Performance optimisation. Service Interfaces SOAP REST and WCF. User Interfaces Web-based UIs using .NET web apps and MVC. Thin-client UIs using WCF. Reports and Data export functions. Background processes and batch jobs Implement new functionality and fix bugs as required by QA and the Business Systems Manager. Review and comment on functional requirement specifications from the Business Systems Manager. Work with the Business Systems team lead to design User Interfaces to optimise user efficiency and ease of use and training. Perform functional testing of all system functions for both new code and bug fixes. Document all functional changes and bug fixes and communicate the details of all changes to the QA team. Assist with QA testing and troubleshooting as required. Troubleshoot fix and report on production issues reported by the System Administration team or the Business Systems Manager While not the norm in case of production issues that impact the business s ability to operate this may require working overtime or at low system load times such as at night or over weekends. Contribute to the overall team Contribute to the architectural design of the overall system as part of the team. Attend and contribute to all team meetings including Agile Sprint planning and reviews. Plan and track all tasks using the Agile planning boards and tools. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Requirements: Relevant IT Tertiary Qualification. 2-5 years relevant experience in an environment that services a full range of business requirements. Experience with Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban. Experience in a Retail Payments or Banking environment is preferred. Technical Skills: .Net MVC with HTML5/CSS3. Restful and SOAP web services. Windows Forms. MS SQL Server. Windows Server. ENVIRONMENT: Our client based in Cape Town requires an IT Support Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will provide professional technical IT support as part of an IT Department that delivers services to a highly technical organisation that demands fast and efficient responses to queries/issues. Solid qualifications with experience in Windows 7 Mac OS X Windows 2008 and OS. DUTIES: Duties and responsibilities: Fielding and resolving (research & troubleshooting) trouble-tickets as well as issues/queries submitted through other mediums (email IM etc.) Perform basic IT administration tasks such as OS updates AV updates adding DNS entries backups adding AD users password changes. Installing Windows drivers and applications. Basic network troubleshooting / provisioning. Maintaining and creating basic reports on IT assets. Maintain and create documentation. Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Requirements: The ideal candidate must be eager to learn and grow his/her skill set needs to have a strong technical aptitude and insatiable technical curiosity. You need to be able to act proactively think on your feet and juggle many tasks at the same time. Effective communication skills a service delivery attitude and high quality delivery are key. Bachelor s Degree or equivalent in Information Technology Computer Science or technically related fields would be highly beneficial and could compensate for lesser experience. Experience with desktop support for Windows 7 plus applications are essential and Mac OS X and Linux would be a plus. Server administration (hardware Windows Server OS Unix Server OS) would be a plus. Active Directory server maintenance and network admin experience would be highly beneficial. Previous experience with the following operating systems is required: OS Mac OS X Windows 2008 and one or more of Unix Linux and/or BSD. Experience in small enterprises (entrepreneurial firms/ VC funded firms) will be beneficial.
