SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Provide high quality leadership and manage an effective and efficient HR operations function which delivers proactive and business focused HR advice and services including recruitment and selection employee relations and reward and systems KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: RECRUITMENT & SELECTION BUDGET AND COST MANAGEMENT INCLUDING STAFFING PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT Manage subordinates by ensuring that PMK and PDP are in place and achieved Manage the company s performance management process by ensuring that PMK and PDP are in place and achieved Custodian of the company s effective performance management practices Implement performance management/ talent management initiatives Ensure that performance management is standardised Monitoring evaluating and reporting results Ensure that a succession plan is in place per Director area EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING Conduct quarterly training such as on Recruitment Performance Management and ER to develop leadership EMPLOYEE RELATIONS Represent the company at CCMA/NBCCI level for Conciliations and Arbitrations Minimise risk with financial implication in dispute matters Consult and advise management and staff on labour related issues Ensure awareness on LRA BCEA EE and all other labour legislation. EMPLOYMENT EQUITY Comply with employment equity and adherence to plan Submit the Employment Equity Plan within specified timeframes to the Department of Labour. Consult with Employment Equity Committee and give input into the development of the Employment Equity Plan Identify Employment Equity quota requirements and advise on status of compliance to targets HR REPORTING & ADMINISTRATION Manage the HR Administration process Analyse monthly reports Perform related duties as assigned by the HR Manager Timeous processing and payment of HR Change Forms actioned HR PROJECTS Implement at least 2 HR Improvements per annum POLICIES AND PROCEDURES Develop update and implement all HR policies and procedures Ensure compliance KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Educational Qualification: A Bachelor s Degree in Human Resources is essential. A postgraduate qualification in HR will be advantageous. Experience 3-5 years Managerial experience in a retail business 3 years experience in administering HR Experience of working in a networked environment Significant experience of successfully managing the co-ordination and delivery of key HR services and employee relations. Experience of working with people or groups at all levels within an organization Knowledge and experience of the HR SAP system Experience of working as a business partner in a HR function Some travel will be required Skills and attributes: Highly computer literate Strong project management skills Strong analytical skills High energy and superb follow-through Must have excellent judgment and conflict management skills Must be comfortable working through ambiguous situations and advising senior management on appropriate course of action. Must have ability to influence at all levels Excellent ability to communicate both in writing and verbally Strong organization skills comprehensive tact and discretion Understanding of business environment Possesses strong product and industry knowledge High level of confidentiality Be able to work overtime Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent team leadership and management skills A sense of urgency - essential Able to work hard under sustained pressure and retain a sense of humour. Areas of Responsibility Responsible for the sales of the Urology products including maintaining and growing existing business and expanding of sales within the assigned territory.
