Ensure leadership and motivation by establishing an open and broad communication of the principles objectives targets and processes including the feedback communication. Ensure personnel is properly managed appraised and developed in accordance with the relevant appraisal and People review processes of the company Maintain identification of training needs planning execution and follow-up of the appropriate training. Ensuring that subordinates are properly trained and receive the support they need to perform their duties. Ensure the strict observance and implementation of the Business EHS Quality Policies and all Company rules. Ensuring that established rules and safe or environmentally sound working practices are adhered to. Managing the Sisonke Cost Centre results to ensure budgets of the office and projects are achieved. Manage the utilisation of resources to ensure all employees within the department are adequately assigned MAIN DUTIES: Ensure scope of work is executed within cost time and quality. Ensure to give on-time and accurate feedback to the SLT on the project issues to allow them a fast and appropriate decision Ensure the on-time delivery of the monthly report Ensure that all the KRAs are looked after by the SMT Aim for the best outcome on cost and all the KPIs Promote innovative thinking Leady by example in order to inspire the SMT members as well as the whole site team Liaise with all the stakeholders which need to be involved in order to assure the right pace of the job Facilitate the interface with the contractor in charge of the Centre Line Erection Foster close cooperation support and overview of the development and performance of the Sisonke team Set local strategy Define project specific processes Develop project execution strategy Run action plans with project teams Ensuring the development of necessary EHS/Quality procedures Prepare project specific schedule Develop relationship with local contractors and suppliers Provide trained resources and hire local project resources Comply with Delegation Models Carry out appraisals for personnel Overview of preparation of the construction cost forecasting monthly Ensure execution feedback is provided (site reports cost schedule .) Defining improvements and targets and ensuring that these are further cascaded within the organisation Monitor performance of the projects and people Support and overall coordination of the implementation of the self performance concept and resources if applicable to the project Identify and develop risk mitigation plan Review TTS Review Constructability Organise Kick-Off workshop QUALIFICATION COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE: Education Master degree in Engineering. Would consider a background in Mechanical Engineering QS or Civil Engineering Post graduate study/courses in commercial management is desirable Specific knowledge and skills Previous experience in setting up and managing alliances and partnership contracts Previous experience of working on large projects preferably infrastructure Oil & Gas Power plants. Understanding of QS contracting and the management of sub-contractors on site Demonstrable business financial and commercial awareness and knowledge Has managed budgets in excess of 10 (Ten) Million Euros Substantial experience and knowledge of multidiscipline scopes of work Substantial knowledge of planning and scheduling Understanding of risks identification and mitigations Experience of Leadership in a Matrix organisation A strong facilitator who can bring people and resources together to achieve a common goal A proven track record of delivering consistent results on time and on budget communicating fully when delays occur Strong ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English a second language would be advantageous Excellent people management skills including the ability to lead motivate and empower teams Demonstrable delegation skills and the ability to develop their team Strong inter-cultural skills and abilities for communicating and managing the worldwide processes procedures and local teams

Commissioning Manager

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The COMM is responsible for: The planning and/or preparation and execution of the commissioning operation trial run and acceptance testing within the scope of work associated to his/her assigned project. The technical safety of the plant from turnover from erection until hand over to the Customer (PAC). The coordination of all partners in regard to commissioning. The implementation of the Business EHS policies safety procedures work instructions and guidelines within his/her operational scope. The COMM ensures that: Remedial measures are implemented to eliminate or reduce unsafe acts or conditions. Work is performed in accordance with local laws and regulations and that personnel assigned to him/her are provided with information regarding hazards and precautions applicable to the site. He/she informs all site personnel of any site hazards brought about as a direct result of Commissioning actions together with associated precautions. All personnel assigned to him/her are informed instructed trained and supervised with regard to safe methods of work. He/she participates in investigating accidents that occur within their working areas. All available tools and aids are utilized in order to achieve the goals of his/her assignment and as well to strive for continuous product improvements and cost reduction. Deviations from the agreed goals are reported and that corrective measures are initiated by arrangement with and with the support of the SIM and project management. Employee assessments for all members of staff reporting to him/her are performed in accordance with current procedure. Commissioning is performed in a safe and timely manner in accordance with the contract budget and time schedule. Prepare for commissioning as specified in the work instructions (MEGA processes). Manage perform coordinate and monitor the commissioning of systems specified within the scope of work according to time schedule and contract and by arrangement with the SIM project management and customer. Respect project milestones and provide information to the SIM project management and commissioning head office to assist in their realization. Organize and supervise the safe operation of the plant (site rules safety regulations shift plan shift log etc.) from system turnover from erection until PAC by arrangement with the SIM project management and customer. Facilitate the turnover of systems from erection to commissioning and from commissioning to the customer in accordance with current procedure/work instruction and the contract. Ensure that commissioning is performed according to the specifications and engineering documents taking into account the safety instructions environmental protection measures and local regulations. Ensure the execution of all witness points as defined by contract local regulations and project witnessing documentation. Ensure the execution of additional commissioning tests as defined by contract and local regulations which are beyond the regular commissioning scope. Ensure that the engineering department is involved in handling technical problems and decisions. Provide progress information to the customer in accordance with project rules. Ensure commissioning operation quality record and feedback documentation are issued. Ensure that a copy of relevant record documents and software is handed over to the customer. Ensure that commercial and technical deviations are reported with a corresponding nonconformance report (NCR) and that the same are followed up until their completion. EDUCATION AND SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS University degree or equivalent or better (bachelor / master). 4 to 6 years experience as a commissioning engineer in power plants. At least one assignment as commissioning lead engineer (COM LE) or a position commanding comparable experience and responsibility. Good know how of power plant processes Levels 1 & 2 of COMET (COMmissioning Engineer Training) or comparable experience. LAN training (Leadership and Negotiation) or comparable experience. EHS training courses level I II and III Fluent in spoken and written English
