Position Overview: To conduct market research and analysis in respect of the truck market as well as relative economic factors. Reporting: This position will report to the Snr. Manager Retail Development Job Objectives: Strategic: To continuously gather information to provide the company with relevant market and economic information for strategic planning. Operational: To conduct global and macro-economic research analysis and feedback for the Trucks Operations and Dealer Network. To conduct truck market research in respect of overall truck market major and detail segments. To conduct research in respect of competitor activities to assist in establishing the price positioning and competitiveness. To establish truck market trends and to determine a top down forecast . To establish and collate the dealer volume forecast and targets for vehicle sales and Part sales. To collate the bottom up forecast from the dealer network to ensure realistic forecasts and a recommended volume plan. To conduct industry analysis and to determine appropriate segmentation of the truck market for the company. To provide couching and support to Dealer network w.r.t. Dealer Processes. To do Dealer standard audits. Customer Focus: To control and coordinate dealer queries relating to truck market intelligence. To formulate methodology to ensure correct profiling of customers. To provide strategic market information to top management as well as operational departments. Education: Minimum: Diploma in economics Diploma in Transport economics (advantageous) Job Experience: Minimum of 3 years market research experience. Exposure to the truck market will be an advantage. IT experience/business analyst exposure will be an added advantage Job Knowledge: Good understanding of economic principles. Good understanding of statistical analysis and research methodologies. Understanding of IT systems and structures to support business plans. Truck market knowledge (advantageous). Job Related Skills: Computer Literacy (MS Office).
