This position is in the Rustenburg/ Marikana area. The position is production and management orientated and calls for knowledge of drilling blasting loading and hauling. Key Responsibilities Establish motivate and maintain a competent and productive complement of site personnel as per the site organogram. Establish a viable method of mining and implement activities and areas of improvement. Procure materials labour Operators and plant and control sub-contractors. Have a thorough knowledge of earthmoving machines and their production outputs and safe working operations. Implement effective cost control and maintain a sound working relationship with the client. Qualifications Skills and Experience Degree or a National Diploma in Mining or Civil Engineering 5 to 10 years experience in opencast (open pit) mining activities At least 2 years experience in managing all the activities of an opencast (open pit) mine. Candidates without a degree or a diploma will also be considered provided they have ample experience in managing all the activities of an open pit mine. Specific experience on Platinum (hard rock) open pit mines will be an added advantage. Preference will be given to an employment equity candidate but the position is not limited to such candidates only. The successful candidate must be younger than 50 years
