General Details Job Title BizTalk\Systems Developer Reporting To (Job Title) Application Portfolio Manage Job Type Classification Permanent Location - Town / City Sandton Division IT Division Department IT Division Additional AGENCY Information Job Advert Job Summary The BizTalk\Systems Developer is responsible for the development of application components against specifications as well as documentation of technical specifications. The BizTalk\Systems Developer will be responsible for the unit testing of the application components and handover to the test team for system and user acceptance testing. The BizTalk\Systems Developer will perform analysis and investigate new or changes to business requirements and provide impact assessments. The BizTalk\Systems Developer will participate and provide input into solution architecture. Responsibilities / Outputs Interpret written business requirements and technical specification documents. Consult with business analysis and architecture teams to ensure alignment to the business requirements and architecture guidelines. Perform impact assessments for projects and initiatives. Participate in Peer Reviews on code and documentation. Participate in design sessions with the solutions architect and/or application architecture Perform development tasks in accordance with written technical specifications as per the project or agreed timelines Investigate analyse and document reported defects. Create document and implement unit test plans scripts and test harnesses. Create and maintain technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates. Provide production support for a specific application or group of applications. Activities include problem analysis fixing testing and promotion to the production environment as well as Technical testing when required; Support deployment and implementation process to the production environment as per the agreed JSE deployment window Report status to the relevant team leaders - Identifying problems and bringing them to supervisor s attention with sufficient lead time to avoid crisis; Work effectively as part of a team and seeks to support the team s goals; Engage in formal and informal knowledge transfer; Effective user interaction as and when required Keeping up to date with the technology trends in the integration sector Experience 2yrs BizTalk Server development BizTalk Pipeline and adapter development C# .NET SQL Server skills; Strong XML XML Schema Web Services WCF services IIS Framework 2.0 3.5 4.0; Documentation delivery and interpretation skills with a detailed knowledge of SDLC documentation requirements and appropriate SDLC methodology; Appropriate skill in Source Management tools (such as TFS or SourceSafe); Detailed understanding of Application Management Delivery procedures; Time Management and Project Reporting skills focussing on deadlines; Quality Management principles; Solid understanding of relational database designs / concepts; Good oral and written communication skills; and Extensive Microsoft Office experience. A distinct advantage would be a candidate who possesses the following knowledge: Knowledge of Financial Markets as specific to the JSE; and BizTalk Server 2006 R2 and above Writing of Custom BizTalk Components (pipelines adapters etc.) Skills Appropriate and recognised formal IT training/experience (i.e. MS Certifications); and 3 to 5 years programming experience in OOP C# .NET/Java and Web Development (HTML & ASP). An advantage would be: An appropriate and recognised formal IT training (a BComm Information Systems or BSC Computer Science or IT Diploma are preferable); and Experience in the financial sector.
