Management Search Consultants PLC Programmer/Support Specialist PURPOSE OF THE JOB To support all factory IT equipment in the Ezakheni factory including bar-code printers scanners and PC s. To respond urgently to incidents affecting production and repair/replace faulty equipment. To work with engineering to implement changes and enhancements to systems and software. CRITICIAL SUCCESS FACTORS Provide users with appropriate IT technical support and advice. React urgently to IT incidents on the factory floor and resolve in minimum time. Manage crisis situations that involve complex technical hardware or software problems Ability to manage project implementations and work with engineering and co-ordinate delivery from contractors. QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE Essential Qualifications and Experience National Diploma IT 5 - 7 years experience in IT specifically factory floor systems Desirable Qualifications and Experience BTECH/BSc IT PLC programming Factory automation CRITICAL FUNCTIONS KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS 1. PRODUCTION SUPPORT o Ensure factory IT infrastructure (printers scanners PC s) is up & running and delivering the correct control services to production. o Ensure factory network is operational and attend to any incidents with urgency. o Manage repair or replacement of faulty equipment. 2. 3. SOFTWARE MODIFICATIONS o Assist with the implementation of software modifications as developed by Arcelik. o Ensure adequate testing and commissioning of software modifications. o Understand and clearly specify factory information requirements. o Communicate these requirements to Arcelik for development. o Test and implement programs and reports developed by Arcelik. 4. FACTORY INFORMATION o Provide first level problem solving and user support of IT supplied factory information systems. o Ensure all information gathering devices in the factory (PLC s scanners PC s are communicating with the system database.
