Assistant Farm Manager Paterson Grade: C5 Reporting to the Farm Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for running all day-to-day aspects of a diverse farming operation which includes sugar cane and forestry in line with standards as set out in the UCL Agricultural Husbandry Policy. Prospective candidates should be fluent in isiZulu should have at least 5 years experience in all day-to-day aspects of sugar cane and forestry production and should have sound mechanical knowledge. A tertiary qualification in Agriculture or Forestry will be advantageous. Key areas of responsibility include: Day-to-day running of all aspects of cane farming from land preparation soil sampling planting and crop maintenance through to harvesting Assisting with all forestry operations which include wattle and bark crops. Agricultural Manager Paterson Grade: Upper D The appointee of this challenging position will report to the General Manager: Agricultural Services and will be instrumental in improving operational efficiency in farming operations through the coordination of the various farming operations within the group. He/she will also be expected to implement best practice farming principles throughout the group. Prospective candidates should hold a tertiary qualification in Agriculture or Forestry with at least 10 years proven management experience in all aspects of sugar cane and forestry production. In addition strong planning organising and administrative abilities are essential. Fluency in isiZulu would be advantageous.
