CareerAvenue Open Pit Production Manager Open Pit Production Manager. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of Open Pit Production Manager - situated in the Eastern Bushveld Mpumalanga. The incumbent will report to the General Manager Mining and will be appointed in line with requirements of the Mine s Health & Safety Act. The package will be in accordance with the Company s package schedules. PLEASE NOTE: Regrettably we are unable to consider candidates who do not have prior mining industry experience this is a crucial requirement and not negotiable. REQUIREMENTS: Diploma/Degree in Mining Engineering Mine Managers Certificate of Competency in Metalliferous Mines. Post graduate qualification in Business Management is an advantage. A minimum of 10 years experience and at least 3 years working exposure as an appointed Open Pit Production Manager for a large-scale mine is essential. Ensure effective asset management processes are implemented and adhered to. Able to ensure production targets and profit margins are achieved cost effectively and safely on a sustainable basis for the business unit. Able to effectively interact with various stakeholders (Safety Planning Maintenance Processing Contractors etc.). Able to implement and maintain sound people management and development practices to ensure a productive workforce. Able to develop and execute the strategic vision/plan for the business unit and directly assist the GMM in the tactical management process via transformational/effective leadership. Act as the custodian for innovation technology and best practices at open pit mining level. Ensure environmental and social concerns in open pit operations are managed as a strategic focus area. Strategic thinking and planning skills are essential Computer literacy (MS Office) is essential. The position requires a highly motivated person with excellent communication skills and strong leadership to be part of driving profitable and effective business outcomes. Medically fit in order to obtain a medical certificate.
