The role of the Infection Control Coordinator is to aid and assist hospital employees in the management of prevention identification and control of pressure ulcers and wound infections in patients and staff. The incumbent will further be responsible to plan develop and implement and manage and infection control programme wound care committee in the hospital for the hospital using basic infection control standards. Key Responsibilities: Effective management of wound care and skin integrity. Develop maintain and improve standards regarding wound care and pressure care. Ensuring cost effective wound care. Management of specialized mattresses. Staff training evaluation orientation. Ensure effective doctor staff and patient relationships. Continuous quality improvement. Research. Act in company s interest. Duties which may be necessary from time to time. Wound forum and infection control meetings. Hygiene audits. Basic infection control in wards. Qualifications and Experience: Registered Nurse registered with SANC. Appropriate Wound Care Courses. Appropriate Pressure Care Management Courses. Appropriate Infection Control Courses. Computer Literacy essetial (Excel PowerPoint). Infection Control knowledge and skills. Non-Managerial competencies: Managing work: Managing ones time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently. Building Customer Loyalty: Effectively meting customer needs building productive customer relationships taking responsibility for custer satisfaction and loyalty. Adaptability: Maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or the work environment. Quality Orientation: Originating action to improve existing work processes and conditions for improved quality of outputs. INTERNAL VACANCY POSITION:FILE ASSESSOR LOCATION: BLAAUWBERG EPORTING TO:BILLINGS MANAGER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for assessing of patient files in terms of: Admission and discharge dates and times Correct procedures/diagnosis Theatre charges Ward charges Dispensing charges Ward extras (equipment charges gasses etc) Nursing notes Extensive liaison and corrective action with Nursing Wards and Units in terms of the above. Billing of stock. Authorisation of files. Final billing. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Clinical nursing knowledge preferably with knowledge of CPT ICD coding. Computer literacy essential.
