Risk Assessments Baseline Business Architecture Business Cases Feasibility Studies Functional Specifications New Business Proposals Responsibilities : Ensure that business processes in area of responsibility are optimised. Identification and justification of new application solutions and /or changes to existing application. Manage risks and quality related to application development and implementation Conduct feasibility studies to the initial requirements understanding before a solution is designed Provide a sufficient process design (this is where the Business Analyst provide a business scenario and see if (the /You the candidate) can follow the instruction and how you would approach the Process Design ( Client will give you an exercise on a piece of paper/white board) client will also ask 2 or 3 Finance Questions they have prepared (which clients asks for every Finance BA that is interviewed) Produce Business cases Oversee requirements planning and management Manage requirements elicitation Ensure requirements communication Produce requirements analysis and documentation Oversee solution assessment and validation Produce functional specifications Manage projects KPIs: Number of projects where stated benefits were not achieved due to incorrect feasibility assumptions Percent of users satisfied with the functionality delivered Percentage of projects delivering business benefits in required timeframe Excellent Knowledge: Clear understanding of the needs of users customers / clients and stakeholders Collaborative relationship between the users customers and stakeholders and the technical team Strong commitment to project objectives Use of repeatable requirements process that is continuously improved The maintenance of a system architecture that supports the users customers and stakeholders current and planned needs The ability to accommodate changes in requirements as they are progressively elaborated Understanding of cost factors involved in the development process Facilitates effective and competitive business processes by eliciting analysing validating and documenting business organisational and/or operational requirements. Identify business factors influencing the development of new or alternative business processes Develop appropriate assessment criteria for the selection of new alternatives business processes. Assess the implication of new processes on both people and organisation and identify the activity necessary to ensure a smooth transition to the new processes. Working Closely with clients and IS staff as appropriate pro-actively seek out analyse model specify integrate and implement processes that satisfactorily marry technical constraints and cost considerations with business objectives and result in safe workable and maintainable systems . In Designing solutions pay full regard to both internal and external standards and requirements such as audit standards data management standards safety related standards good practise and legislation . Give direction and leadership to project groups. Play a significant part in the definition of strategies to make effective use of ICT in business area and draws on an understanding of state of the art use of techniques relevant to any area of specialism e.g strategic planning operations research cost benefit analysis. Maintain good knowledge of advises on and justifies operational ICT and IS policies and effectiveness of current business applications .Advise on and justify standards methods and procedures for general applicability. Guide clients towards accepting viable and valid system solutions which involve changes to working conditions and practices showing understanding imagination and creativity. Write and speak fluently on all aspects of work and communicates effectively with all levels of management Submit options for improving business processes to decision makers at senior management level. Assess the risks costs and potential benefits of alternatives business process designs. In this role you need to have solid experience in freight forwarding sales as well as experience from generating leads booking appointments presenting to clients closing the deal and managing the account and building relationships. You will also be responsible for up selling to existing clients and maximising business opportunities and ultimately revenue and profit.
