OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB: BI Development using SSIS SSAS SSRS BI Toolsets knowledge Microstrategy ZAP
My client is looking for an Oracle Technical Analyst to provide the company s Oracle users with meaningful standard Oracle and Discoverer reports in order to perform their duties. Qualifications and experience Grade twelve with Mathematics and Accounting as subjects 5 years working experience writing Oracle Application reports using PL/SQL 5 years working experience writing and supporting Discoverer reports in an Oracle applications support capacity 3 Years exposure to how Oracle ERP application works and the business processes underlying each function. Have a good understanding of financial accounting and management accounting concepts Studying towards a formal qualification in IT (Bcom Info Systems) Key job duties or responsibilities: Create security controlled responsibilities and EUL s for the individual user communities Document all management reports and maintain a library of each report that is version controlled. Create standard Oracle Applications reports that will suit user requirements in terms of the information and format of the report. Ensure that all custom reports within Oracle Applications are documented and a library maintained to ensure that reports are sustainable during upgrades and patching. Discoverer Workbooks & EUL Administration Ensure the company is on a supported version of Discoverer Analysis and design: Streamline the process of data collection that makes up the daily reports. Assist the functional BA in compiling report specifications and understanding what data will make up each report. Investigate and advise management on methods of providing Business Intelligence and dashboard management information. Application development: By providing formal training as well as providing on the job training the person will become involved in application development and enhancements as part of the daily duties over time. Training: Provide training to new discoverer users and assist users to be able to extract the correct information from each EUL. Customer Service: Serve our internal customers with speed and efficiency always remaining positive and ensuring that the business is always placed first Communicate with customers in a friendly and professional manner never losing sight of the organisation s vision and values. Critical Skills or competencies Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to deal effectively with individuals at all levels. Good organizational skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Has to understand basic accounting principles such as distinguishing between assets liabilities expenses and income. This goes very much hand-in-hand with an accounting/bookkeeping background which is not negotiable.
