Superintendent (Project) Sasolburg Secunda Mossel Bay Main Purpose of The Job To organise and provide planning and control services on site subject to the line authority of the Site Manager Job Objectives Planning Agree short term milestones during the planning and preparation phase with the Site Manager Agree long-term milestones with the Site Manager Revise and keep all plans up to date prior to commencement of the shutdown Documents the shutdown programme and monitors progress against the programme and advice the Quality Surveyor of any variations/delays Ensure that all instructions or details of work made available by the client are incorporated into the project programme and made available to the shutdown personnel Estimating - Agree with the Site Manager the resources needed on site Technical Services - Agree with the Site Manager on the need for technical services - Controls any technical services provided on site Requisitions for Material and Equipment - Liaises with the Material Controller at all times to ensure that stock levels are kept at required levels Relations with Client - Participate as required in dealing with the client or its representatives - Informs the client informed on progress on the project difficulties encountered or anticipated - Inform the Site Manager of any discussions with the client on questions which he is unable to resolve satisfactorily Handover to Client - Ensure that all work planned and carried out is handed over to the client Construction - Ensures that shift handovers are done correctly Essential Work Activities Checking Using Tools/Machine Assessing/Evaluation Influencing/Advising Informing/Discussing/Interviewing Presenting/Instructing/Briefing Deciding PR/Developing Relationships HSE and Quality Responsibilities Maintain standards of HSE and comply with Company s Health Safety and Environment Management System requirements and adhere to South African OHS Act Act 85 of 1993 Take reasonable care of one s own health and safety and that of others in the workplace Follow and maintain Company standards of Quality in accordance with Company Quality System requirement Contact: AtripleA Recruitment and Temps url email \ email or to apply for this vacancy. Main Purpose of The Job To control the effective and profitable undertaking and completion of all scope identification planning preparation prefabrication and construction/installation Job Objectives New Business: - While on construction sites and in the development of relationships with clients work towards continuing to source on-going work for the Company Planning of Projects: - Allocates Engineers Superintendents and Supervisors to specific tasks - Coordinates the preparation of scope id sheets and ensures that all scope id sheets are approved by the client - Prepares the input information for the 10% budget (e.g. tools lists histograms IFL requirements and container requirements etc.) - Draws up organisation charts for his area and assists HR to source staff for his team - Interfaces with the planner to prepare a realistic turnaround plan - Interfaces with and assists in the preparation of QC plans and packs - Agrees the format for the packs and the content with the client Projects Under Construction: Manages all construction activities of both the company and Subcontractors so as to meet schedule Discusses and assesses problems encountered by the staff on site Assesses need for additional and input of labour supervision and equipment during the course of construction Ensures that methods of work are up to date efficient and in accordance with Company and Client Safety Policies and the OHS Act Monitoring Performance: Ensures that construction/installation keeps to the budget/plan Investigates and accounts for any deviations from plan Ensures control procedures are operated correctly Keeps daily diaries and records during construction to protect the 5% incentive Maintains back up to justify the payment of the 5% budget Organisation on Site: - Ensures construction organisation is adequate that staff at all levels understand their roles and responsibilities and that effective delegation takes place - Establishes and maintains good relationships with Clients - Reports to the Project Manager on all aspects of construction in detail and at intervals as determined by him - Advises the Project Manager as requested on any desirable changes in methods of work or on work practice and control - Sets an example of loyalty enthusiasm and hard work in the performance of all duties - At project completion compiles a lesson learned report which is to be reviewed by the Project Manager Environmental Duties and Responsibilities: Co-ordinate the efforts required to achieve the highest rating in terms of the ISO 18001System for the Company Ensure that the planning training development managing and revising of the Environmental Management System are being put in place Ensure that people are made aware of the policies and control measures on sites Ensure all environmental incidents/accidents gets reported and actions been put in place to prevent reoccurrence Essential Work Activities Controlling/Directing Checking Integrating/Coding/Estimating Deciding Planning Reviewing/Evaluating Implementing/Coordinating Motivating HSE and Quality Responsibilities Maintain standards of HSE and comply with Company s Health Safety and Environment Management System requirements Take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others in the workplace Follow and maintain Company standards of Quality in accordance with Company Quality System requirements Contact: AtripleA Recruitment and Temps url email \ email or to apply for this vacancy.
