Position is based in Germiston at Head Office Qualified Boilermaker / Draughtsman / NHD / NTC3 Technical qualification ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL: 5-10 yrs experience in steel fabrication environment 3-5 yrs experience as an Estimator / Project Manager Must have valid Driver s License Reviews enquiries estimates and manages the allocation of tenders costing and leading the tender price submission. Conducts pricing comparisons contributes and participates in the Exco tender review process. __________________________________________________________________________ KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES): Analysis of tender - interpretation and evaluation of the Client s requirements from documentation and discussions estimate value and required resources with relevant role players. Coordination with Client s technical and commercial personnel. Site inspections - coordination of site inspections and liaison with relevant role-players to obtain tender information. Tender preparation - drafting of programmes checking quantities material take-offs conducting supplier pricing analysis of pricing. Estimating - determine fabrication material labour methodology resource and sub-contracting requirements in liaison with relevant role-players to provide contracting rates in the format of a final tender document. Tender administration - Ensure all records are up to date and accurate and in compliance with company procedures. Tender progress - ensure that submission dates and requirements are met. Discuss detailing and fabrication hours with the drawing office and the workshop. Review tender with the estimator and check tender letter. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS NTC 3/ NHD/ Boilermaker/ Draughtsman EXPERIENCE 5-10 years experience in steel fabrication environment. 3-5 years experience as an estimator / project manager. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES Good command of English Business language and strong communication skills Computer Literacy: MS Office (Word Excel Advanced) MS Project other Estimating Packages. Technical and general knowledge of structural steel Understanding of commercial matters contract law and negotiating skills.
