Main purpose of the job : Works in a BI production support environment responsible for supporting 3 rd party vendor applications at a Tier 1 level. These include Microstrategy Retalix suite of products (Triceps VOICE Dock scheduler Analyser) Arthur Planning and Allocations. Provide configuration and integration management expertise. Act as administrator for the various 3 rd party vendor applications and first line contact for production issues as they are reported. Detailed description of the main job functions and responsibilities: Investigate and resolve existing system issues. Provide DR testing support when required. Unit and system testing. Liaise with development staff management and client staff. Perform after hour s standby. Required personal characteristics for the position: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple and changing priorities. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to work well under pressure. Willingness to work a flexible schedule. Commitment to customer service and establishment of good rapport with client. Accountability. Accuracy & Attention to detail. Confidentiality of information. Creativity proven ability to develop new system methods and concepts. Responsibility - follow-up on issues. Team work. Flexibility to work on different sub-systems. High EQ. Qualifications and skills which are ESSENTIAL for the position: Min 5-8 years IT experience. Min 3-5 years solid production support experience in a BI environment. Min 3-5 years Unix scripting experience. Min 3-5 years solid integration and configuration management experience. Ability to interact with clients at a senior level. Excellent communication skills written and verbal. Strong Analytical background Must be prepared to travel as and when required nationally and within CBD s Candidate must be prepared to perform standby duties. Sound knowledge of MS office products in particular Word Excel Power Point and Outlook. Qualification and skills that is desirable for the position: Retail knowledge. Microstrategy.
